Background:
Árpád (Árpi) came from a gypsy family where they struggled with his dad’s alcoholism for years. It was very hard on his family. In spite of these difficult circumstances he did well in high school, he was a good student. He was a strong catholic and went to the Catholic Church on a regular basis. But the time came, when he felt that something was missing from the church and from his life. He had a friend who invited him to Calvary Chapel in Baja, Hungary. He gave his life to Jesus in the summer of 2004 and he got baptised in the summer at Vajta in the family camp. He decided that he wanted to go the Bible School, (Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe) in Vajta one day because he got a promise from God, that he was going to be a pastor one day.
When God provided the money, Árpi started CCBCE in the fall of 2006. He was supported by an American family, who helped him through all four semesters. He was greatly blessed by this gift from God, because he never would have had that kind of money to complete the school.
After graduation:
Árpi completed the two year program in the Calvary Chapel Bible School in Vajta and he graduated in May 2008. He moved back to his home town, Baja, where he is serving the Lord with full heart and passion for Christ at the Baja Calvary Chapel. He is part of the leadership and is serving many ways in the church. His main ministry is the youth group and doing worship. He is also teaching in the Sunday school every other week and giving guitar lessons. Sometimes he gets the privilege to teach in the church, that he enjoys very much.
Zita’s background:
Árpi met his wife, Zita at Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe in 2006. Zita is from Budapest. It was 2004 when Zita called the Lord into her heart and she got baptised that summer at Vajta. She went to the Budapest Church where she was part of many different ministries. She was serving in the coffee house, and was organizing many events for the young adults. Zita was growing fast spiritually and two years later, in 2006, God called her to CCBCE in Vajta. She finished two semesters, then she was asked to be on staff and run the coffee house in the Bible School. She enjoyed working there, because it was always on her heart to work in a coffee shop, especially in a Christian coffee shop.
During those years in the Bible School Zita started to go on outreaches to a nearby church in Baja, where Árpi is from. She built very close relationships with the youth there and became part of the youth ministry with Árpi.
Together:
Árpi and Zita got married on August 30th, 2008 and they moved to Baja, where God called them. Now they are serving in the church as leaders and in other ministries. Zita has a new ministry on her heart, a quilting ministry. She was part of the quilting ministry in the Budapest Church and now she would like to start one in the Baja Church to reach out to women of different age groups. Baja is a small town of 35,000 people and there is not much to do in the city for the youth or adults. So she feels that it will be a great way to reach out to the Baja ladies and take the gospel to them.
Árpi and Zita are just two of many Eastern European students that have attended Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe and Missions Training.
